Electric Vehicle charging

Plans for thousands of new EV chargers given ‘greenlight’

“On 14 November 2024 Devon County Council announced plans giving the “green light” for thousands of new Electric Vehicle (EV) charging points across Devon. Approval has been given for the scheme, which follows a Government award of over £7 million for publicly accessible EV charging points to be installed in the period up to 2030.

We’ll be lobbying our County Councillor to press for a fair allocation of this essential new infrastructure to Bovey Tracey & Heathfield. We hope and trust that, through timely co-operation between the Councils involved, (Devon, Teignbridge & Bovey Tracey Town) we’ll see an enthusiastic take-up of this welcome opportunity.

It would be marvellous to receive feedback from the community on the medium-to-long term aspects of public EV charging point provision in Bovey & Heathfield. If anyone wishes to give their views to us, they will help us formulate an Action Plan for presentation to our community representatives.”
